CPC School (Certificate of Professional Competence) of Odigisi.gr :

 

Provides driver general knowledge and modern perception of knowledge and new skills development for professional drivers holding a D1, D1 + E, D, D + E driving licence before 10-9-2008 or licence holders C1, C1 + E, C, C + E before 10/9/2009, who, in order to practice the profession of driver, must receive periodic theoretical training without examinations.

Professional driver’s training

What CPC is?

The obligation of the Professional driver to lifelong job training. According to Π.Δ. 74 on the adaptation of Greek legislation to Directive 2003/59 / ΕK of the European Parliament and  Council, regarding the first qualification training and periodic training of drivers of certain road vehicles, used for the carriage of goods or passengers, professional drivers may continue to exercise their profession, but must get the CPC and as a result code of 95.

The purpose of the CPCs,  for professional bus and lorry drivers, is to increase road safety and ensure the professional competence of drivers of buses and lorries, to encourage the continuous improvement of knowledge and driving skills and also to upgrade and certificate drivers profession.

CPCs are distinguished in passenger transport CPC and goods transport CPC.

Professional drivers, when driving vehicles of C1, C1 + E or C, C + E subcategories, are required, in addition to the required driving licence, to have CPC for goods transportation.

In order for this driver to prove that he is owner of a CPC cargo transport, he / she is required to have a valid Driver Training Bulletin, that complies with this Ordinance or to be mentioned on the driving license next to one or more, of the subcategories or categories, the Community code number 95 (with its expiry date)

Professional drivers when driving vehicles of subcategories D1, D1 + E or categories D, D + E are obliged, in addition to the required driving license, to hold a passenger transport CPC.

In order for this driver to prove that he is owner of a CPC passengers transport, he / she is required to have a valid Driver Training Bulletin, that complies with this Ordinance or to be mentioned on the driving license next to one or more, of the subcategories or categories, the Community code number 95 (with its expiry date)

According to Π.Δ. 74  and with the European Directive on “Lifelong Learning for Professionals” depending on whether it is a new driver (for someone who gets now the driving licence of the respective category) or for an old one (in-service driver) CPC is distinguished in:

 

CPC first qualification

It is obtained by success in the additional (Driver’s Diploma) Theoretical and Practical Exams and is required to be possessed by those who have acquired or will acquire:

  • From 10 September 2009 onwards driving licence of C1, C1 + E subcategories  or C, C + E categories
  • From September 10, 2008 and then driving licence of subcategories D1, D1 + E or categories D, D + E.
First CPC qualification does not have compulsory education (neither theoretical nor practical) but has a Theoretical and Practical Examination in addition to examinations for the driving category.

CPC periodic training

You should follow the theory training program of at least 35 hours (without  examination) or 42 hours for simultaneous training at the CPC for Freight and Passengers at the Driving School / CPC Center and are obliged having it the drivers:

  • (a) C1, C1 + E subcategories or C, C + E categories, from 9 September 2014 onwards and having obtained a driving licence before 9 September 2009.
  • (b) subcategories D1, D1 + E or categories D, D + E from 9 September 2013 onwards and having obtained a driving licence before 9 September 2008.

In order to acquire the Certificate of professional competence (CPC) periodic training (either freight or passengers transportation), you must attend 35 hours of theoretical training at the CPC School and obtain the Certificate of Attendance, which you must deposit in the Region of your place of residence.

Both CPC periodic and first qualification,are valid for 5 years.  

All the Certificates of Professional Competence (CPC)  have a 5-year duration. The expiry date is indicated on the driving licence in the corresponding professional category, next to code 95.

The professional driver is obligated (regardless CPC’s procedure to acquire) to “renew” it every five years under the periodic training procedure.
